Sugarcane Bagasse Pulp Molding Products FAQ:
What is Bagasse?
Bagasse is sugar cane fiber pulp, left after the juice has been extracted from the sugar cane stalk. Bagasse is normally seen as a waste product, and is often burned thereby causing air pollution. Making tableware out of the sugar cane pulp solves the problem of waste and as well creates a value added product from a material, which is treated as a waste product.
What are the benefits of using bagasse?
Bagasse is 100% compostable and it biodegrades in 60-90 days. Through the use of this product, you are contributing to a sustainable planet. Bagasse is a tree-free readily renewable resource and provides a superior alternative to petroleum derived products. It will biodegrade and will not stay in the environment for hundreds of years.

2: Food Contact Safty Certificate:FDA,SGS,NSF,EC-EU,LFGB;
3: Biodegradable & Compostable Certificate:OK Compost Home, OK Compost Industrial, BPI, EN13432
Normally do not need special authorization, after we export, we can send all documents and you can use the copy of our certificate.
How long and how does they compost & biodegrade?
The rate of decomposition depends on the composting conditions – the temperature, turnover rate, moisture, etc. Just like other compostable material, products will biodegrade much faster if they are broken into smaller pieces. Bagasse tableware will biodegrade at the same rate as garden waste in a home composting system, which, depending on the home composting system, can be approximately 90 days. They will degrade faster in a commercial composting facility.
Can the product be heated in microwave and oven or put into refrigerator?
Can be, safe to be used in microwave ,oven few minutes, and few days in refrigerator.
If these products need to be film coated? How can they be water/oil proof?
Recently we all do not use any PE or PLA film coated on our bagasse products, do not need it, all of our bagasse tableware are hot water oil proof. We added waterproof and oil repellent during production, which has a good waterproof and oil proof effect without leakage.
Can you do PFAS free of the pulp molding sugarcane bagasse tableware? What is the cost?

Cornstarch Tableware & Cutlery FAQ:
Process Principle of Cornstarch Tableware
Cornstarch disposable cutlery is a kind of environmental friendly tableware with corn starch as raw material, which is degradable, non-toxic and tasteless after heating and can be safely used.
Cornstarch disposable cutlery process principle is as follows: Corn starch is a kind of natural polymer. The molecules contain a large number of hydroxyl groups. Therefore, the corn starch macromolecules interaction force is very strong, which makes the original corn starch difficult to gain fused process, and its compatibility with other polymers in the blending process is poor.
However, these hydroxyl groups can undergo esterification, etherification, grafting, cross-linking and other chemical reactions. These chemical reactions are adopted to modify the corn starch to reduce its hydroxyl and change the original structure, so as to change the corresponding properties of the corn starch. They can change the original corn starch into thermoplastic corn starch. Thermoplastic corn starch is generally a blend of modified starch and biodegradable polyester (such as PLA/PBAT/PBS/PHA/PPC). Thus cornstarch cutlery is fully biodegradable, compostable, pollution-free to the environment, and the waste is suitable for composting, landfill and other treatment methods. The biodegradable tableware manufacturer, Bioleader makes full use of this material to produce high-quality in flight products.
After dehydration at the high temperature, the corn starch is pressed into flakes of the same width and thickness by a tablet press. Finally, after cutting and quantitative molding by a die, the corn starch is transformed into eco-friendly disposable dinnerware such as cornstarch cutlery including cornstarch spoon and fork, and cornstarch box.
What kinds of certificate you have?
Cornstarch tableware: ISO, OK Compost Industrial, EN13432, EC No 1935/2004, EU No 10/2011, SGS-FDA, MSDS, Test Report.
Does the cornstarch contain plastic(PP)?
Yes, normally our cornstarch product contains some percent of PP.
How can they be compostable & biodegradable?
Yes, it is biodegradable, carbon neutral and edible.
Waste is mixed in a large pile, loosely layered with bulking agents (woodchips, branches, shredded newspaper, etc) to allow air to filter through the pile. A network of pipes blows air into and sucks the air out of the pile, speeding up the natural process of composting.
Cornstarch tableware are all need industrial compost.
What is the difference of CPLA and Cornstarch cutlery?
1: Material:
CPLA:PLA+others
Cornstarch:cornstarch powder(mainly 60-70%)+PBS+PP+Light calcium carbonate+
Talcum powde+Low molecular polyethylene
2: Feature:
CPLA:100% Compostable & Biodegradable
Cornstarch:100% Compost Industrial &Biodegradable
3: Cost:
CPLA Price about 100-150% higher than Cornstarch.
4: Outward appearance:
They looks nearly same.
CPLA milky white; Cornstach is white
5: Buyers choice:
Due to the cost difference much.
95% buyer choose cornstarch. only 5% buyer choose CPLA.
6: Our production:
Due to the buyer’s choice, we already stop CPLA produce, now focus on Cornstarch.
- What is different between CPLA and cornstarch cutleries?
CPLA is more pure, it is from PLA, PLA is mainly extracted/refined from corn, potato
and other starch.
But Cornstarh is mainly from raw material cornstarch powder.(no refine, directly use
corn powder and other mixed)
- Are both series degradable?
CPLA is biodegradable and compostable. (60-90days)
Cornstarch is compostable, but at last it is degradable too.(need more time: 120days)
- Cornstarch series is less cost, why?
Material difference.
PLA material cost is very expensive, but cornstarch powder is cheap.

Cup Style: Single wall cups, Hollow wall cups, Ripple wall cups,
Bowl Style: Kraft paper bowl, white cardboard coated paper bowl (Soup bowl, Salad bowl)
What is the difference of PE and PLA coated?
In conventional paper cups they are coated with PE (Polyethylene) derived from oil, to make board waterproof. Cups coated in PLA (Polylatic acid) the plastic is derived from plants, so both the board and the coating are derived from fully renewable sources.
PE coated: Normal cups, PE means normal plastic, can not be 100% compostable.
PLA Coated: Biodegradable cups, PLA with paper can be 100% compostable and biodegradable.
What kind of inks are used on paper cups?
We use water based inks, and are food compliant
Can I recycle cups through office paper recycling
Although a odd few cups finding themselves in paper waste would probably not be a issue, most waste paper recyclers will not take paper once contaminated with coffee cups, as most paper ends up being hand sorted, and finding piles of mouldy paper cups in the paper stream will cause problems.
Why does PLA coated cups cost more?
PLA cost is much higher than PE plastic. And the production of PLA coated board is much slower and more problematic than making PE coated board, converting PLA coated board into cups requires machines to be adapted, and making the cups is much more difficult.
What is the MOQ?
Normal paper cups(PE coated): 30,000pcs/type (no print); 50,000pcs/type (printing cups);
Biodegradable paper cups(PLA coated): 100,000pcs/type
