Bio plastic cutlery is typically made from renewable plant-based materials such as cornstarch, PLA, or sugarcane, making it biodegradable and compostable — individually wrapped spoons.
The decomposition time varies, but most biodegradable plastic cutlery will break down within 3 to 6 months in commercial composting facilities — individually wrapped spoons.
It is widely used in restaurants, healthcare facilities, offices, schools, events, and for travel, wherever single-use and sanitary standards are a top priority.
Some biodegradable plastic forks and spoons can be composted at home, but most require the higher temperatures and controlled conditions found in industrial composting facilities for complete breakdown , individually wrapped spoons.
